I don’t currently have a subscription to Doki Doki Crate (or any subscription box actually, sad times) but when I saw this promo video for February’s Sweet Valentine box on Instagram I knew I was going to have to grab one. Why? Because that big squishy marshmallow plush is something I absolutely needed in my life!
Just in case you’re not familiar with it, here are some key points about Doki Doki Crate:
- monthly kawaii lifestyle crate from the makers of Japan Crate
- 5-6 items per box, wide range of products each month
- $35 per month, free shipping worldwide
- official site ✩here✩
Given I bought the crate just to get one, I’m obviously very excited about the Marshmal Park Plush. So here it is~
And it was so worth it! Just look at this thing! Look at that cute little heart on his butt! Yes, I did spend many more days than strictly nessesary squealing everytime I laid eyes on this silly big thing. It’s so freakin adorable though and so fun to smoosh and stretch and cuddle. If you watched the promo video (or if you have one too) you’ll understand that the true joy comes from the unique texture, it really is like a big fluffy mashmallow!
As far as I know the plush came in five varieties overall, I’m really glad to have gotten the caramel shiba one because dogs are pretty much always my favourite. I would absolutely collect and cuddle them all though! They spark so much joy o(≧▽≦)o
Next we have some cute stationery items, a Yeastken Memo Pad and some Chocolate Stickers. Always exciting to get more stationery!
The memo pad has two different page designs; one with lined paper, one with grid paper, both as adorable as expected. Yeastken stuff is just ❤, I don’t know why I don’t own more of it actually! I find these little memo pads super useful so I’m glad to have another one for the hoard collection ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
The stickers come in 15 designs, with 2 of each design included for a total of 30 stickers. They are chocolate scented, which is a sweet idea but less than ideal when you first open the sack and they hit you with a headache (눈_눈) . Once they air out a little it’s fine. They’re bigger than what I would usually buy but still a good size for my Hobonichi, I really like all the designs so will get good use out of these too 。^‿^。
In keeping with the sweet theme there are two items featuring our favourite pudding pup, Pompompurin! The first is this sweet Pompompurin Plush Charm, which isn’t going to oust the Jinbesan plush cham that currently has pride of place on my handbag but will look adorable hanging somewhere. Look at that sweet lil face (≧◡≦)
The second Pompompurin item is this adorable pair of socks, they’re fluffy and warm so of course I love them! Winter is still going strong where I live so it’s nice to have something to brighten the dark days. They fit my feet so well too~ (´▽`人)
The final item in the February box is a blind boxed Pokemon Figure. I love the Gameboy packaging and the figure is nice enough quality, but Magnemite isn’t even close to being on my list of favourite Pokemon so I’m not too excited about this one. Funily enough we also got this Magnemite card from the Pokemon Happy Meal event at McDonalds, what are the chances? My son is very happy with the figure for exactly this reason so it’s all good 。^‿^。
I’m really impressed at the selection this month, I expected to love the plush but to love and have a use for 5 out of 6 items is fantastic! I like that nothing is overtly ‘Valentines’, just chocolate-y and sweet. I can’t be mad about the blind box because it is what it is, just bad luck ╮( ˘ 、 ˘ )╭
I probably won’t be doing too many unboxing posts in the coming months because hey, life, but I hope you enjoyed this one. Thanks for reading~
