Pokemon is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (and what a long, strange trip it’s been 😉 ). As part of the year long celebration, they have released a new expansion in the Pokemon TCG; Pokemon Generations. The boosters are not being sold in the usual way, instead they are being included in special monthly boxes as the Pokemon Mythical Collection and in the Red and Blue Collection, a series of four special boxes featuring Charizard EX, Venusaur EX, Blastoise EX and Pikachu EX.
Each box in the Mythical Pokemon collection contains a full art promo card of the Pokemon for that month, a metal pin of the Pokemon and two Generations booster packs (10 cards per pack).
This is the first box in the Mythical Pokemon collection, featuring Mew as our February Pokemon.
I love the symbol for the 20th anniversary products, it’s adorable ^_^

Happy Pokemon Day everyone! Today marks 20 years since the original Japanese release of Pokemon Red and Green (which came to us Europeans as Pokemon Red and Blue in 1999).
There are loads of things going on this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary, today we saw the release of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow on the Nintendo E-store. I’m SO excited to be able to play through Pokemon Yellow again, it was the first Pokemon game I owned so for me this is going right back to where it all began. I can’t believe I’ve been into Pokemon games for 16 years. To think, my parents didn’t buy me Red or Blue because they thought they were a (pretty expensive) fad and I’d get bored of them. Proved that wrong, didn’t I! :p
Here’s to many more years of Pokemon! ^_^
PS-If you play the Pokemon TCG Online, remember to log in today to get your special card sleeves and Generations booster pack 🙂
Our TokyoTreat March edition arrived yesterday, once again super early. I love the bright, spring colours this month…if only the weather outside was really that bright!
Let’s see what is inside:

Something a bit different today; a Pokemon mystery box!
Pokeblock, formerly known as LME Gaming Mystery Pokemon Crate, is a Pokemon themed monthy mystery box by LME Gaming. It’s not a subscription box, per say, as you don’t subscribe; you simply buy one whenever you see one you like the look of.
This month they promised a kawaii theme, with an awesomely adorable promo picture featuring Sylveon. I’m a real sucker for anything labelled ‘kawaii’ so this month I jumped in.
I kind of wish I hadn’t.
Let’s have a look at what’s inside:

Happy Valentines Day! ^_^
Whether you celebrate the day or not, you have to admit there’s something awesome about the shops being filled with yummy pink/red, heart shaped, love filled delights. Well, ok, you might not like that much if you really hate Valentines. Which is fair enough. Me, I love the ‘love is in the air’ feel. It matches the general uplifting mood that comes with spring arriving and winter, with all it’s cold and dreary misery, ending for another year.
In true Valentines spirit, Glico have created this adorable heart shaped strawberry Pocky. Seasonal snacks always rock, but when the season is Valentines…well, things just get adorable ^_^
We got this box in our February TokyoTreat box, you can see what else we got here.

Final Fantasy was a major childhood favourite of mine. I love it, I seriously love every game in the series (except XII, which I could never play as it just made me feel nauseous).
Naturally, when I got wind of a new game with an awesome looking collectors edition I got straight in there with my pre-order.
Fair warning; this post is full of disappointment. If you want to skip the negativity and just see what’s in the box, feel free to skim the photos.
