Wow, this box came super early. It’s not even February yet!

This month (by which I do mean February, not January), TokyoTreat sent out a special Valentines edition box that is just chock full of adorable pink candies and chocolates! Look at the cover on this months little magazine, how adorable is that artwork? ^_^

Let’s see what was included in this super sweet Valentines edition:

First up, an all time favourite; Strawberry Pocky! These ones have heart shaped biscuits to make sharing with your loved ones even more special ๐Ÿ™‚

Awww, how adorable is this? This is a Little Twin Stars Strawberry Crunch Bar, which appears to be a tiny little strawberry flavoured rice crispie bar. How sweet! ^_^

This is a big bag of Grain Gummy, jelly beans in typical Japanese candy flavours (apple, orange, grape, peach and muscat). I must admit, I’m not a fan of jelly beans at all. But these ones are very cute, plus jelly beans areย one of my son’s favourite sweets so he can enjoy them ๐Ÿ™‚

This is Collis Strange Gum, chewing gum sticks that start as one flavour (lemon, strawberry or blueberry) then change to grape as you chew. I have my reservations here, as frankly I think yummy flavours changing to the often awful grape in you mouth is a pretty nightmarish thought! Hopefully this is a nice grape ๐Ÿ™‚

These are super interesting, they are a limited edition Nagewa Mentai Mayo flavour; thin crunchy potato rings flavoured with mentaiko (marinated Pollock roe) and mayonnaise. They are trying to emulate a savoury/sweet dish where the mentaiko is served with pasta and a butter or mayonnaise sauce. I really can’t wait to give these a go, I haven’t disliked anything from Tohato yet! ๐Ÿ˜€

This little bar is Princess’s Lost Treasure, double berry cookie crisps ‘with a sweet filling on the inside that will leave you wanting more and more!’.

Okok, silliness aside these do look pretty yummy. TokyoTreat say the packaging reminds them of the time Mario and Princess Peach first came to be, which is sweet ๐Ÿ™‚

Hm, this may be another miss for me. Not just grape, but double grape! This is a String Candy Grape and Muscat, a chewy string candy that is designed to be played with prior to being eaten.

Ahhhh another super adorable one! These are little Fujiya Peko Poco chocolate lollipops. I love Peko, I’ve seen this type of character lolly around a lot but they are usually pretty pricey for all they are. I’m super happy to have the chance to try them, especially in this super cute Peko edition ^_^

This is a pack of Lotte Koume Soft Candy, a soft pickled plum flavour candy that is both sweet and sour. If they are anything like the hard Koume candies we have had, these are going to be delicious. Plus, more adorable packaging! ^_^

This is definitely the odd thing out in the box, being neither cute nor pink! These are Dontaco’s Chili Taco Flavoured Chip, a big ol’ bag of spicy taco flavoured crisps. I think my partner was happy to see something not totally girly in the box, haha :p

These say they are made with the ingredients of an actual taco, which to me says they are just bits of taco shell (which happen to make me feel ill). I may not be trying these, but my partner loves tacos so he can enjoy for both of us!

This is our special item for the month, a pair of wooden chopsticks with a good luck fortune! I thought this was a pretty awesome item to include, they seem to have included several designs but ours is a lovely deep wood (not black) with a lovely scene painted on the top with little dragonflies. They are really very beautiful, I love them ๐Ÿ™‚

Inside the packaging is a fortune. The magazine did give us some vocab to try to help us read our fortunes, but sadly I have no idea what mine says as it doesn’t contain any of the vocab and in fact makes no mention of luck! Mine says something about laughter in the house and receiving seafood (though I think I need to be nice to someone to receive the seafood). That can’t be bad, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another super exciting item, this is a can of Sweet Red Bean Soup. Yum! ย I haven’t had the opportunity to try red bean in many forms, despite being a fan of the flavour. I’m really looking forward to this ^_^

The adorable-ness continues with a DIY candy kit; Kracie’s Mr Fun Bakery. I’m not sure why one would make an ice cream at a bakery, but this is very cute and since it’s quite a simple kit involving little more than piping cream onto wafers, hopefully I won’t mess it up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Last but by no means least, we have some super looking chocolates. These are LOOK Two Types of Strawberry, which as stated are two different types of strawberry chocolate in one box. What girl isn’t happy to get chocolate on Valentines? ๐Ÿ™‚

This box really brought a smile to my face with all the adorable pink packaging, not to mention the awesome variety of interesting flavours to try. Another super box from TokyoTreat ^_^

  1. This month’s box is so awesome! Lucky you ๐Ÿ˜€ The Fujiya chocolate lollipops bring back good memories. When I was a little kid we used to get those on rare occasions as a special treat, and we’d cut the package in half — one for my brother, one for me hehe
